In late July I was in Cambridgeshire for Tom and Lizzi’s wedding. They held their ceremony in the grand surroundings of Ely Cathedral and finished their day ‘glamping’ on a farm! Their wedding was full of personal touches and despite starting is such a grand building the reception was on a farm in the countryside just outside of Ely where teepees had been erected for guests and a real country ‘DIY’ vibe was key. Lizzi’s friend had loaned her the stunning gold hair accessory she wore on the day so we created the hair around this. While Lizzi wanted her hair to be bridal she also wanted it to reflect the country, relaxed theme of her wedding so we worked in twists and plaits as well as pinned up loose curls keeping the top tidy to really show off her stunning head piece. For her makeup we kept it natural – enhancing her natural beauty with highlighters and little lashes on the eyes but keeping the base light and fresh to show off her stunning freckles. Lizzi sent me these kind words after the day:
“Thank you so much for your help – you did such an amazing job. We were all so happy. It took loads of pressure off getting ready knowing that we were in your hands! I’ve had so many compliments on my hair and the hair piece, and the flawless makeup “
Her photographer Adam Cherry captured the day beautifully, I love the dramatic black and white shots at Ely Cathedral.
